Pathways Toward Job Creation: Empirical Evidence on the Role of Digital Entrepreneurship and Social Capital

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is one of the important concepts in enhancing nations’ growth as well as economy. Digital entrepreneurship is an emerging type of entrepreneurship, simply the way via which opportunities can be identified using digital technologies. The purpose of current study is to analyze that how more jobs can be created using digital entrepreneurship using social capital as moderator. Study used quantitative survey tactic by floating well-structured questionnaire amid the “453” respondents i.e., digital entrepreneurs of Pakistan. Researchers checked instrument reliability, instrument validity and data normality before moving towards inferential analysis. After diagnostics tests researcher applied correlation analysis and multiple hierarchical regression analysis to test the hypotheses. Results revealed direct significant association amid digital entrepreneurship, job creation and social capital of entrepreneurs. Results of regression analysis revealed digital entrepreneurship significantly influence the job creation in the country. Results revealed social capital act out as moderator in rapport amid digital entrepreneurship and job creation. Results concluded that with the increase in digital entrepreneurial activities more job can be created in country. Furthermore, results revealed social capital have enhancing effect as a moderator because with the insertion of social capital, influence of digital entrepreneurship increased on job creation.
